Red Blazer presentation at Alliance-MidIsland Lodge

On April 23rd, Grand Advocate Sir Ron Degen, Grand Secretary Steven Gold, and Grand Chancellor Bryan Hofffman “Three Amigos” all received the “Red Blazer”.  Alliance-MidIsland served sandwich/salad collation while hosting this event.  Well attended by our fellow Pythians.  Folks came from far and wide Rockland, Queens, Brooklyn counties and local Long Islanders.

CDGC Alex’s Homecoming to Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge

On April 21st, Alex Needelman was welcomed “Home” at Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge (EGL).  EGL served a nice collation dinner while hosting this event.  Well attended by our fellow Pythians and guests.  Folks came from far and wide, Eastern LI, parts of Queens, Rockland and local Brooklynites.  Supreme reps, Dokk reps, Grand lodge reps and subordinate lodges.  The Salem family brought Alex into the 21st Century on the 21st of April with a new laptop (now, how can that be topped, it can’t).  Roger gave Alex a travel mug from the DOKK’s.  Michael entertained the guests and gave the history of the “Needleman” family including the family “Crest”.

On April 19th, Alan Paul Katz’s Deputy Dinner(luncheon) from 72nd District was a fun event.

3 in 1 Rank

On March 31st, Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge held a 3 in 1 rank.  7 new Knights were admitted into our great order.  Pictured on left is GC Bryan Hoffman with 7 new members in between Prelate from Esquire Goodfellowship Lea Salem on the right.

St Paddys Day

St. Patrick’s Day parade in Gerritsen Beach

On March 28th, Pythians march in St. Patrick’s Day parade in Gerritsen Beach.  V.C. David Steur, G.V.C. Brian Klasewitz, G.C. Bryan Hoffman, P.A.C.D.G.C. Bruce Solomon, G.P. Craig Kligfeld, P.C.D.G.C. Robert Fletcher, and Josh Birnbaum for marching in the parade.

Desk Pen Set

On March 27th, Ramapo Lodge presented GC Bryan with a Pen Desk set.  Ramapo Lodge hosted a nice bagel and salad collation before the presentation.  The night was well attended and many very nice comments for the Grand Chancellor of NY.

Deputy Steven Needelman's Homecoming 3/3/2026

On March 3, 50 Pythians celebrated Deputy Grand Chancellor Steven Needelman’s Homecoming, hosted by Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge. Steven is the Deputy for the 2nd, 3rd, and 46th Districts. Steven has performed his duties as Deputy honorably. We were all proud of the way Steven represented The Knights of Pythias. Many dignitaries praised Steven for the excellent job he has done.

3 in 1 Rank

On January 20th, Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge held a 3 in 1 Rank where we admitted 6 new Knights.

72nd District

On December 9th, The 72nd District honored Grand Chancellor, Bryan Hoffman, with the presentation of the briefcase.

Presentation of Red & Blue Jackets

On November 6th Harmony Lodge presented the Blue Jacket to Chief Alex Needelman. The 2nd District presented the Red Jacket to Grand Chancellor Bryan Hoffman and Grand Secretary Steven Gold (will be a Past GC by July).

Alzheimers walk

Saturday October 4, many Pythians participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® in East Meadow, NY. The Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Special thanks to PCDGC/AGT Sir Marty Nyear and PACDGC Scott Geffon for being our team leaders. Our Pythian team raised $2,470. Starting in late September Deputy Grand Chancellor Alan Paul Katz delivered Grand Chancellor Bryan Hoffman’s message a few times.  Alan represents the 72nd district and did a wonderful job!

Special Olympics

Special Olympics was held on Saturday September 20 at 9:00 at Cantiague Park in Hicksville. Thank you to all for showing up and making a difference. The Special Olympics mission strives to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people through the power of sports. The Special Olympians discover new strengths and abilities, skills and success. These athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential. Thank you to The Humanitarian Fund, Harmony Lodge, and Michael DiBlasio for their generous donations. We raised $4,500 and were the Golf Scorers for the Special Olympians. Visit to Calvary Hospital

We are grateful for your enduring support and contributions to our community over the last 35 years and deeply thankful for the ways you have brought the Knights’ values of Friendship, Charity, and Benevolence to life at Calvary. The Knights were founded after the Civil War to heal the wounds of conflict and unite people of goodwill — a mission which is as relevant and meaningful as ever. Gerritsen Beach St. Patrick's Day Parade

On March 29th 2025 the NY Knights of Pythias marched in the Gerritsen Beach St. Patrick’s Day Parade. Our thanks to GMA Craig Kligfeld and PCDGC Robert Fletcher for organizing this fun event. Many Brooklyn lodges meet at the Ancient Oreder of Hyperians. It was our pleasure to support them by participating in the parade. New City Orangetown Donates to Israel

New City Orangetown donates over $1200. When the Israel Hamas war started Financial Secretary / Treasurer Bruce Sicherman sent an email to all members. The results were over $1200 came in from members. The checks were turned over to the Federation and Foundation of Rockland County to be sent through United Jewish Appeal to provide for humanitarian assistance to Israel.

Pythians Support Alzheimers Association

On Sunday, October 1, 2023, many Pythians participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s ® in East Meadow, NY. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. This inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to join the fight against the disease. It is wonderful that Pythians came together for an inspiring community event that celebrates the commitment to ending this disease. Special thanks to PCDGC/AGT Sir Marty Nyear and PACDGC Scott Geffon for being our team leaders, the Third Pythian District, Alliance-Mid Island Lodge #801 and Island Lodge #623 for their generous donations. Our Pythian team raised over $2,800. This year, the charity of the Knights of Pythias Order is the Alzheimer Association. Thank you to all who participated and donated to fight this dreadful disease.

Pythians Support Cancer Society

Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge at the Brooklyn Relay for Life. The
Knights of Pythias Brooklyn Division raised over $5700 for the American
Cancer Society.

SPECIAL OLYMPICS

Special Olympics New York provides inclusive opportunities for people who are intellectual challenged to participate in sports, discover and unleash the champion within themselves. These athletes experience the thrill of competing in authentic sports. They have overcome many obstacles, however they still remain active for life. Special Olympics continuing mission is to be inclusive no matter what their abilities. Special Olympics New York provides a training ground where those abilities are refined and given room to grow.

In the picture are Co-Chairman PACDGC Stuart Teicher, Grand Treasurer PGC Don Rosenberg, Special Olympics liaison Alexis Dawson, Co-Chairman DGC David Salem, and Grand Chancellor Richard Resnick presented checks to The Special Olympics for $4,750. The Special Olympics were cancelled due to heavy rain on Saturday September 23. Pythians were supposed to be the official scorekeepers for golf. Special thanks to The Humanitarian Fund, Esquire Goodfellowship Lodge #635 and SR/PDSC Sir Jordan Levy / Harmony Lodge #809 for their GENEROUS donations.

FDR Lodge Donations Support Pythian Charities

On September 23, 2022, the Associated Foundation of FDR 613 Knights of
Pythias presented checks to support three Grand Lodge charities. FDR Vice
Chancellor Ira Spiegel, President of Kings-FDR Tolerance Foundation presented
donations to the Grand Lodge College Scholarship, Pythian Diabetes Research
Association and the Pythian Humanitarian Fund. Earlier Foundation donations
support Hewlett House and MLS ( Multiple Sclerosis Society).
